VITAL TESTS AT HOME

VITAL TESTS AT HOME
The basic problem people in the world face is in health care where many people often have to stay in a hospital for hours together even though the intended task is to get a patient monitored.
So the idea is creating a wearable device which can monitor the vitals of a patient and send hourly updates.
The Vital signs monitored
·                                 ECG
·                                 EEG
·                                 EMG
·                                 respiration rate
·                                 Perspiration
these data will be monitored using normal ecg electrode (respiration effort uses piezo material)
all these data will be sent to a doctor through GSM transmission and the device sends reports every hour to doctor's phone if the doctor finds any problem he calls the patient
Advantage
·                                 It leads to faster diagnostics (as doctor need not spend too much time per patient)
·                                 The biggest problem in hospital i.e- not enough rooms for patient (this is solved as patient occupy space only to take scans but this helps them to stay at home and take the medical attention and there will be more rooms vacant for the people with medical problem to stay).

Transparent Cement that Saves Electricity

This is a new technical innovation that lets sunlight through cement. This cement material is named
i.light. There is no compromise with reference to quality or the strength of a structure built with it.
Gap in this material will be 2 to 3 mm and this lets light through it thus creating beautiful pattern
when viewed from certain distance or angle. To look, this resembles a normal cement material
though on sunny days, one will likely mistake the wall to be a mesh to let light into room.
A similar innovation to the transparent cement done earlier used optical cables to let light in, though
it proved to be a costly affair. With resin plastic insertions, Italcementi Group Innovation’s Director
Mr. Enrico Borgarello claims to have found a feasible and effective solution over optical fiber cement.
Not only that, resins capture daylight more efficiently because of wide visual angle. It is under patent
and not yet known if it will be sold worldwide.

PROJECTOR PHONE

PROJECTOR PHONE

With the improvement in mobile technology, companies keep on launching various
technologies in mobile phones. Few years back, mobile phones were available with
only basic features like dialing and receiving calls, text message etc. However, as time
progresses, many improvements have been made in mobiles, like touch screen, camera,
music player, Internet browsing etc. Recently, few companies launched projector phone.
With in no time, these phones become very popular among various mobile users. Through
this article, we will study about mobiles having inbuilt projector facility.

Projector phones are one of the most emerging technologies in mobile market. By using
these phones, you can display any image or video on large screen using projector. Theses
mobiles have inbuilt mechanism and software, which can project videos and images on
any nearby large screen, including wall. This complete mobile projector system has four
main parts- laser light source, electronics, scanning mirror and combiner optic. In first step,
electronic system turns video or image into electric signals. In next step, laser light source
throw laser on these electric signals, with different colors and intensity. Then came the role
of combiner optic, which combine all different light path into single path and then, finally
mirror copy all images and videos and then project them on wall. This whole system is
compacted inside a single chip.

These projector phones can be used in several ways. People store large number of images
in their phones. If you view these images in your mobile phones, you will be restricted up
to a certain level, as you cannot see those images larger than your screen size. However,
phone supporting projector techniques allow you to view these stored images on a large
screen. This technique is like innovation for mobile game lovers, as they can play all mobile
games on large screen, which is very entertaining. It is just like playing Play Station or X-
Box on your TV.

Projector phones have many advantages. By using these phones, you can generate large
size images or videos on any wall. Large screen experience is far better than watching any
image or video on small screen mobile phone. These mobile phones are a bit expensive, but
if we compare their price with actual projectors, you will find these mobile phones worth
buying. These phones are easy to use, install and they save lots of space in comparison with
projectors. There are few disadvantages also. You will always require dark rooms for proper
display as these phones will not work in areas having bright light. These mobile phones are
very sophisticated and require lots of maintenance.

Various companies keep on launching these projector phones. If you are planning to
purchase, you can visit any good and reputed mobile shop. There are various Chinese
phones also available in market, which support projector facilities. However, these mobile
phones come with only 3-6 months warranty. Therefore, it is advisable to purchase branded
mobile phone like Nokia, LG, Samsung, Sony etc.

LIFE PLOT CCD1

LIFE PLOT CCD1

“LIFE PLOT CCD1” is a 12lead simultaneous ECG device that acquires an ECG record and wirelessly transmits it over the internet into the hands of a cardiologist/specialist. The concerned doctor mobile number is entered at the time of acquisition. Doctor can then view the ECG on any GPRS enabled phone as well as on pc.

AIR LASER

AIR LASER
Enginners  developed a new laser sensing technology that may allow soilders to detect  hidden bombs from a distance and scientists to better measure airborne environmental pollutants and greenhouse gases.
“we are able to send a laser pulse out and get another pulse back from the air itself” said Richard miles, professor of research group . The new technique difference from previous remote laser-sensing methods is that the returning beam of light is not just a reflection or scattering of the outgoing beam. It is  entirely new laser beam generated by oxygen atoms whose electrons have been “excited” to high energy levels. This air laser is much more powerful tool than previously existed for remote measurement of trace amounts of chemicals in the air. This work is funded by the office of “Naval Researchers basic research program” .

POWER GENERATION USING PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIALS

POWER GENERATION USING PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIALS
Introduction –

What are Piezoelectric Materials?
Piezoelectric materials are those materials which on applying pressure undergo changes in its dimension and produce electricity which is known as PIEZOELECTRICITY.

For example LEAD ZICRONATE TITANATE will generate measurable amount of piezoelectricity when it is deformed by about 0.1% of its original dimensions.

As u can see the above picture, when we compress the material, deflection can be seen in the voltmeter which indicates there is some potential difference in material.

Applications -

Piezoelectric materials are used in day to day life such as the house hold gas stove lighter which ccontains               piezoelectric materials which on pressing produces spark and lights the gas stove, but now a days electric lighters are used but yet it was a great invention. Other applications are cigarette lighter, detonators, sensors etc.

A SIMPLE MECHANISM OF PIEZOELECTRICITY SHOWN ABOVE

FUTURE APPLICATIONS –

My idea was to generate considerable amount of electricity by using such kind of materials.
We can generate electricity by using these materials in staircases by replacing them with the tiles, marbles which we use today or wherever it is economical to install. The concept is simple with increase in surface area the power generation will also increase, so we need more area and large amount of pressure which can be fulfilled by public places like railway stations foot over bridges, platforms etc.
